From 2011 to 2020 I was the head of R&D for www.snowbusiness.com. I designed a large proportion of thier snow FX machinery and many of their materials. The effects I designed have been used on countless films, TV programs and adverts all over the world. While at Snowbusiness I also designed, installed and operated the snow FX for the opening ceremonies of the 2014 winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

I have recently returned to SFX after a short break in industry over the Covid years and have, together with my son Rory (SFX Trainee), set up as ALBA-SFX based in Dumfries.

We are currently working for SFX GB Ltd on Outlander Blood of my Blood season 2. We are happy to work on a wide range of SFX and specialise in design and prep. We have a small workshop and design office just outside Dumfries.
