My name is Daniel Cassidy, a freelance Sound Recordist and Editor who is currently based in Ireland and will be moving to Edinburgh this September (2026). Having graduated with a degree in Film & Broadcasting in 2022, I have been working freelance for the past four years with multiple credits across independent film, live performance, and advertising. While I have a degree, the vast majority of my experience has been self-taught due to the smaller department sizes that come with independent productions with more constrained budgets.

From 2022 until 2025, I worked as a sound recordist, editor and designer for the series Midlands Mayhem. I was the only person who worked in the sound department for this project, and I successfully managed to complete each of the required roles to a high standard. I am now looking to level up my skill set as a newcomer to the Scottish film sector, as I feel my proven work ethic and output would be a perfect match for Scotland's ever-growing film scene.
